MARÍA AZUCENA
Studied theatre at the Escuela Nacional de Arte de la Habana (Cuba).
She travels to Buenos Aires and studies theatre and puppet theatre at the school of Avellaneda. It is here where he begins his relationship with puppetry and manipulation of objects.
She then returned to Chile and studied juggling, acrobatics and clowning at Circo del mundo. It was at this time that he created his first clown act Mosca Hijo, a clown and object manipulation act. She then travelled to Europe and studied the world of clowning in depth with masters such as Ciscu Margenat, Marina Barbera, Johnny Melville, Jango Edwards, José Piris, Lolo Fernández, Hayde Banales, Luisa Gaillard, Gabriel Chamé.
She also met Pepe Otal’s puppet workshop in Barcelona where he made his first puppet creations with the technique of direct manipulation, creating shows such as Roselio, Rosemarie and Malcolm. She also created the clown shows La Poseída, El Roy de Extraña.
The union with puppets, clown and circus led her to create the street show Transformación. With this show she has toured Europe, Asia and America in important circus and puppet festivals.
She is currently working on her indoor show Dualité and with the company Twisted Fairground.Art and theatre installation.
